About Chris and Gordon
The C and G Vaughan Partnership is a father and
son partnership, in the North West of England. Our first interest was showing
dogs. We purchased one of our favourite breeds, an Irish Wolfhound.
Unfortunately he needed an operation on his leg, so we could not show him.

Then one night my dad came home from work and told me that a colleague at work
bred and showed canaries.
A couple of weeks later he took me along to Liverpool Old Swan CBS, and his work
colleague, Matt Eld, was showing his birds and took best novice there.
Like many other people we got hooked and went to a local fancier, Richard
Bradshaw, who was selling up. We bred with these birds and the following year
showed them at CBS shows and specialist shows, having some success. I remember
winning a class of 8 in the variegated buff hen at Runcorn CBS, which I thought,
was like Tranmere winning a home game, amazing!
The following year we bought more birds in from local fancier Jeff Hamlett.
I can remember two hens, one was a green and one was a cinnamon buff. The green
hen produced a lovely variegated buff hen to take Best Novice Variegated at the
North of England show, which was our first special. The cinnamon has produced
countless winners, taking Best Cinnamon at most specialist shows, through the
remainder of our novice status.
We have purchased birds from a number of top fanciers over the years. This is
alright but families have got to be built around these in order for all the
birds to look the same and most importantly have the same qualities and produce
these year after year.
Over the past two years we have purchased some quality birds from Mr. and Mrs.
Gibson and Gerald Spencer. Marlene and Jim Gibson have built a very strong
family of birds around Gerald Spencer's stud and Gerald's birds can always be
picked out at shows, they are always so calm between the sticks.
Both of these studs have also provided us with some excellent birds to build up
families around.
